How to get there

The festival is held outside Kastanies village which is situated at the north area of the Evros prefecture.

Directions to Kastanies:

By car: Follow the highway E85 north past Orestiada for 17 km until you meet Kastanies hub. From the central square of village, you have to get the left road and continue for 400 metres until you arrive to the river Ardas and to the event area. Custom of Kastanies (borders with Turkey) is about 300 meters from the central square. There is FREE PARKING.

By bus: Intercity buses run daily from Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala, Xanthi, Komotini, Alexandroupoli, Soufli and Didimotycho to Orestiada. There are a number of buses leaving from Orestiada to Kastanies with the last bus stop being only 300 meters walking distance to the festival area.

Flights:The nearest airport is ‘Dimokritos’ airport at Alexandroupoli where Olympic Airways and Aegean Airlines conduct flights daily from Athens.

Upon arrival to the Dimokritos airport, travellers can either chose to travel by bus or train to Kastanies via Orestiada.There are buses running from the airport to Orestiada, but the travellers who wish to travel by train will first need to get a taxi from the airport to the railway station in Alexandroupolis.

By Sea:The port of Alexandroupolis offers limited services, however it provides a service from Laurio to Alexandroupoli.The port is 100 metres walking distance to the railway station.
